Volunteers
The Houston Multicultural Health Festival (HMHF) is seeking volunteers (18 and older) to assist with this year’s event. Volunteerism is a great opportunity to meet new friends, have fun and help serve the community. Thanks so much for your support.
The HHMF encourages corporate and professional organizational involvement, and welcomes volunteers from Houston area companies and organizations with health initiatives. To volunteer as a group, contact HMHF representative Lewis R. Millier at 713.748.6300 or advertising@stylemagazine.com.
Individual volunteers, please complete the below form, indicate your volunteer interests, and provide us with your available times to volunteer.
VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTIONS:
Festival Set-Up/Tear-Down – Assist with general Festival set-up/tear-down, install signage, arrange booths, etc.
Vendor Load-In/Out Assistance – Assist zone vendors with getting to their assigned booth from the Vendor Information Booth, assist with vendor set-up.
Grounds Keeper – Keep Festival grounds clear of trash. Empty trash receptacles, replace receptacle liners.
Stagehand – Assist with on-stage activity.
Greeter – Welcome guests, answer questions, help VIPs get to designated areas.
Hospitality – Manage areas of volunteers and VIPs, keeping refreshments and food available.
General Information Booth – Man information booth, answer attendee questions, provide directions.
Vendor Information Booth – Man vendor information booth, provide vendors with information packet and credentials.
Volunteer Check-In Booth – Man volunteer check-in process and distribute volunteer T-shirts.
T-Shirt Sales/Distribution – Sell T-shirts.
Media Booth – Register media; provide Festival credentials and information/directions.
Zone Captain – Manage volunteers of assigned zone area, point-person for vendor/zone volunteer/attendee questions/help.
Zone Volunteer – Assist zone captain, vendors, attendees with questions and Festival needs.
Real Men Cook Volunteers – Assist cooks, celebrity judges with operational needs/questions.
Runner – Runners trouble-shoot, assist Festival management with Festival operations. May be required to drive golf court to deliver ice to vendors, etc.
VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS:
Assignment Confirmation: Volunteers will be contacted with confirmation and instructions.
Be on time for your shift. Sign-in/out at Volunteer Check-in Booth.
Attire: Khaki pants or walking shorts, the official HMHF volunteer T-shirt (pick-up at Festival Volunteer Check-in Booth prior to shift), and comfortable shoes/tennis shoes.
Please limit your cell phone useage during event to break times.
Professional, courteous conduct is a must. Please make Festival guests and vendors feel at home and welcomed.
Be sure your area is covered when on breaks.
Volunteers are welcome to breakfast and lunch.
